About
Welcome to 6th grade English Language Arts. At Mount Logan Middle School, "Our mission is to ensure all students leave our school ready to create a positive future for themselves and their community" (mlms.loganschools.org). This mission statement directly correlates to Logan City School District's Flagship plan, "Our Desire is not simply to address, short-term learning goals, but to also help students develop the attitudes, behaviors, and skills that promote long-term success." -Superintendent Frank Scholfield.
My classes are proud of the work we do, and the behaviors and attitudes we are cultivating through hard work, goal setting, and growth mindsets. As we progress throughout the year, and complete assignments we will be sharing our learning via SeeSaw. We are ready to succeed, and progress!

Platforms for student engagement and success
I will be using Google Classroom and SeeSaw to connect with parents, to teach students how to collaboratively work on projects, and to integrate technology into my classroom.
SeeSaw:
At the beginning of the year each parent will receive directions and a special code to connect you to the SeeSaw app/website. This is a web-based platform that will act as your students Learning Journal this year for their 6th grade English Language Arts Classes. Their final projects, and writing assignments will be posted here, as well as class announcements, reminders, and behavioral forms. The platform in completely private for students, parents and teachers.
Google Classroom:
Each student has an email address assigned to them by Logan City School District. They will use this email address to access Google Classroom for their assigned period. Within this web-based platform, the will be able to work on collaborative papers with other students, take quizzes, and connect with learning materials.
